Has anyone seen the river?

Wow today was intense. I had no idea the quantity or variety of obstacles this river could put forth. Though there were trees, many - big, small, a little below water, a little above, just high enough to limbo under, alive, dead, rotten. We saw all that and then a whole bunch more. Most impressive were 1. 30 feet of dog hobble choaking the whole river 2. the river famning out to a wide swamp that we walked through dragging boats and 3. so many branches from below and above that you were trapped to the point of needing rescue and using 1/2 the kayak paddle just to row.  At each point we wondered if we were still in the river and how in the world we were going to get through. In total we estimate we traveled 4-6 miles all day.

Chris swamped his boat with water and we have been drying his affects by fire.

At the end if the day we got a small opening in the river and paddled a beautiful stretch is swamp.

Found another stellar camp sight among the swamp. This one had a plastic chair down in the swamp. We are feeling pretty lucky as these don't come around often.
Chris adding a wrist strap to our invaluable machete.
