The team got stilt up again. It is suprisingly easy with so many oxbows coming and going and water moving in and out of the swamp. The main trouble is trying to figure out who is waiting whom.
The mosquitos today got feisty and were swarming and biting even while we paddled. We snagged a campsite on a power company dock. We spent the evening sequestered in our tents as even the fire cold not dissuade the little monsters. Joseph commented that if the authorities tried to run us off he would choose jail over having to break camp and set up elsewhere.
Today we saw beaver, belted king fisher, muskrat, a big stout alligator and Chris snatched a green snake right out a tree as he paddled by. The deer are too numerous to count. The are crashing and splashing everywhere.
